Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how QR Studio handles information when you use our iOS app, website, API, public QR pages, and dashboard.

QR Studio can be used locally to create, customize, scan, save, and export QR Codes and barcodes. Some features, such as dynamic QR Codes, accounts, file sharing, forms, public links, and analytics, require server-side processing.

2. Local QR Codes

For static QR Codes created or scanned locally in the app, QR Studio does not collect the textual content entered by the user unless the user chooses a server-based feature.

Local content may include text, URLs, Wi-Fi data, contact details, phone numbers, emails, locations, calendar events, payment or wallet strings, SMS messages, barcode values, scanned QR content, images, logos, and local history.

This information remains on the user's device unless the user exports it, shares it, opens it in another app or service, or creates a dynamic QR Code that depends on QR Studio's servers.

3. Account Data

An account is optional for basic local use. An account is required to create and manage dynamic QR Codes and dashboard resources.

When an account is created, we may process the user's name, email address, authentication provider, password hash, Apple sign-in identifiers when used, account creation and update dates, last login date, storage limits, and security/session data.

Passwords are not stored in plain text.

4. Dynamic QR Codes

When the user creates a dynamic QR Code, we store and process the data needed to operate it. This may include public code, title, description, QR type, status, destination URL, public URL, custom HTML content, form configuration, QR style settings, export settings, expiration date, password protection status, password hint, storage folder data, creation and update dates, and deletion status.

Dynamic QR Codes may redirect visitors, display files, show a digital menu, present custom content, collect form responses, or provide other server-backed experiences selected by the user.

5. Uploaded Files

If the user uploads files for a dynamic QR Code, files are stored on QR Studio's server storage. We may store file metadata such as original file name, stored file name, display name, content type, extension, file size, storage path, sort order, primary-file flag, status, creation date, and update date.

The user is responsible for ensuring that uploaded files are lawful, authorized, and appropriate for publication through the QR Code.

6. Forms and Submissions

When a user publishes a QR Code with a form, visitors may submit responses. We may store the submitted response data, submission date, QR code, IP address, User-Agent, referrer, screen information, and related technical metadata.

The user who creates a form is responsible for requesting only appropriate information, informing visitors about the purpose of collection, and complying with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

7. Analytics and Technical Events

QR Studio may collect analytics and technical events to operate dynamic QR Codes, show access statistics, prevent abuse, improve performance, and diagnose errors.

For public QR access events, this may include QR code, event type, date and time, client timestamp, IP address, User-Agent, referrer, Accept-Language, screen width and height, pixel ratio, timezone, browser language, platform, device type, browser, operating system, accessed URL, and event metadata.

For app usage analytics, we may collect general technical and statistical information such as app version, device type, operating system, app language, screens accessed, feature usage, export format, export size, template category, scan success or failure, crashes, errors, and performance data.

We do not use analytics to sell the content of QR Codes.

8. Camera, Photos, and Device Permissions

The iOS app may request camera access to scan QR Codes and photo library access to read QR Codes from images or allow the user to add images and logos to QR Codes.

Camera and photo access is used only for the features chosen by the user. QR Studio does not collect or store camera frames, photos, or image library content on its servers unless the user explicitly uploads a file or image to a server-backed feature.

The user can change or revoke device permissions in iOS settings.

9. Local History, Favorites, and Preferences

The app may store local history of created QR Codes, scanned QR Codes, favorite templates, export preferences, and app settings on the user's device.

The user can delete local history and local data in the app settings or by removing the app from the device.

10. Subscriptions and Purchases

QR Studio may offer a trial, Pro subscription, or in-app purchases.

Purchases are processed by the App Store or the corresponding platform. QR Studio does not receive full payment data such as card number, security code, or bank details.

We may receive limited subscription status information, such as free, trial, active, expired, or Pro status, to unlock paid features and provide account support.

11. Support Requests

When the user contacts support through QR Studio's support page or email, we may process the email address, message, selected language, request date, IP address, User-Agent, and related support metadata.

This information is used to respond to the request, investigate issues, maintain service quality, and protect the service from abuse.

12. Sharing with Service Providers

QR Studio does not sell personal data. We may share or process data with service providers needed to operate and improve the app and service, including hosting providers, database providers, email providers, analytics and diagnostics providers, payment and subscription platforms, app store platforms, and infrastructure providers.

These third parties process data according to their own privacy policies, contracts, and applicable laws.

13. External Links and Third-Party Services

QR Studio may allow users or visitors to open links, maps, messaging apps, email apps, phone apps, social networks, payment apps, websites, or other external services.

When the user or visitor opens external content, that third-party service operates under its own terms and privacy policy. QR Studio does not control third-party privacy practices.

14. Retention

Local data remains on the user's device until the user deletes it, resets app data, or uninstalls the app.

Account data, dynamic QR Codes, uploaded files, form submissions, analytics events, support requests, and technical logs may be retained for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and support legitimate business operations.

Users may request deletion of account data and server-backed resources by contacting support.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data handled by QR Studio and reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Children

QR Studio is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If we become aware that a child's personal data was improperly collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

17. User Rights

Depending on the user's country or region, the user may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, and information about data sharing.

Because many static QR Code features operate locally, some information may exist only on the user's device. In those cases, deletion must be performed in the app or by removing the app from the device.

18. International Processing

QR Studio and its service providers may process data in Brazil or other countries where our infrastructure, providers, or app store platforms operate.

When data is processed internationally, we take reasonable measures designed to protect it according to applicable law.

19. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app, website, API, features, service providers, legal requirements, or data handling practices.
